It’s always sunny in Switzerland. Well, at least when there’s a new horological wonder to behold—an almost daily occurrence. This time, Hublot continues its longstanding search for the sunnier side of life, celebrating the European summer with two new location-exclusive timepieces.
The Big Bang Unico Azur sees the manufacture’s signature silhouette rendered in deep shades of blue, accented by white. Limited to 50 examples, the newcomer will be exclusively available at Hublot’s two French Riviera boutiques in Monaco and St Tropez.
Unveiled at the Villa Cap Estel on the Côte d’Azur, the Big Bang Unico Azur represents an ode to the Mediterranean sea.
“The Big Bang Unico Azur pays homage to the French Riviera, a destination that has never ceased to inspire artists and designers alike,” says Richardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. “Its luminosity, distinctive blue, and unique Mediterranean lifestyle invite you to sail away, relax, spend precious moments with loved ones, and enjoy the sun.”
Set within a 42mm blue ceramic case, the luminescent white hands and hour markers intersect like ships passing at sea, observed through the porthole-shaped (‘hublot’ in French!) dial. A bright white ceramic bezel creates a stark contrast with the deep blue case and open-worked dial, with the timepiece presented on either a sporty blue colour-matched rubber strap or an elegant white leather strap.
The timepiece is powered by the in-house HUB1280 UNICO Manufacture Self-winding Chronograph and is priced at approx. $40,800.
