Revving Up the Glamour on Sydney Harbour
The Concours d’Elegance Car Show Comes to Cockatoo Island
It’s not every day you get the chance to leave dry land for a rev-head paradise. Yet this March, Concours d’Elegance is inviting car enthusiasts to do just that.
The group behind Concours d’Elegance is further elevating the concept of a car show by taking over the industrial island in beautiful Birchgrove, to present an upscale exhibition of dream cars, along with food, fashion and a program of talks.
Taking place over the March 1-3 weekend, Concours presents 75 of the finest cars from around the world—some being shown in Australia for the first time.
The legendary British-born event with chapters in Pebble Beach, California and Hampton Court Palace, England has once again joined forces with prestige makers including rare sports cars, super cars and new-flangled EVs by Aston Martin, Bentley, Brabus, Lamborghini, McLaren, Pagani, Porsche and Rolls Royce.
It promises to be a head-spinning 360-degree experience with plenty to see, eat and do for both petrol heads and their partners.
The weekend of events, gala dinners, special lunches and talks includes Sunday’s Electric Elegance – a day to showcase a jaw dropping collection of EV’s – including an electric Rolls Royce and vehicles by Polestar. Guests will also see new models from BMW, Range Rover and Fiat, as well the Ineos 4×4 off roader, and motorcycles from Brough Superior and Arc Motorbikes.
The centrepiece for foodies is a gourmet luncheon prepared by celebrity chef Sean Connolly on the ‘La Trobe Harbour Lawn’ with endless Champagne Pommery and Château La Gordonne rosé.
And to make travelling between events easy a dedicated ferry service has been created between King Street Wharf and Cockatoo Island to make travel between easy.
