Jaeger-LeCoultre Just Dropped a New Rose-Gold Master Ultra Thin Moon Watch
The new model sits at 36 mm.
Jaeger LeCoultre is carrying on the tradition of dropping a new Master Ultra Thin Moon each autumn.
The watchmaker just unveiled a warm new version of the model done up in a 18-carat rose-gold case, following behind a limited-edition iteration with a grained copper dial that dropped last November. And smaller watch fans, rejoice: The dress watch will sit at 36 mm, the same as its older sibling, in a nod to 1950s round timepieces.
JLC also taps into its history of crafting ultra-thin watches, crafting Ref. Q1242521 to be just 9.3 mm thick. The star here, though, is that polished rose-gold case, complete with the clean lines, thin bezel, and curved lugs that we all know and love from the Master Ultra Thin lineup. The material makes its way to the silver sunray-brushed dial, too, where it’s used in the combined date and moonphase display perched at 6 o’clock, shining brightly against the midnight-blue starry sky. Elsewhere on the dial are the Dauphine hands, with one that’s satin-brushed, the other polished.

Beating away at the heart of this elegant number is Calibre 925, made in-house at Jaeger LeCoultre’s Manufacture-Atelier in the watch enclave of Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux. The 4.9 mm thick self-winding movement, which you can catch a glimpse of via the transparent sapphire-crystal caseback, offers up 70 hours of power reserve, a frequency of 4 Hz, and a water resistance of around 49 metres. Other details from the caliber include Côtes de Genève finishes, blue screws, beveled bridges, and, last but not least, an open-worked 22-carat pink-gold winding rotor.

The new timepiece comes with a black alligator strap, which allows the pink-gold case to truly pop on the wrist, that be interchanged with ease and complete with another touch of pink-gold on the buckle. JLC made the overall Master Ultra Thin lineup to be the ideal dress watch for men, and it delivers a welcome addition to the family here—timed perfectly, of course, with the influx of holiday soirees undoubtedly dotting your calendar. Ref. Q1242521 is available now at respective boutiques from the maison, retailing for a cool au$41,200.
