An Italianate confection, Villa Porta Rossa is one of the oldest estates on the Pittwater side of Sydney’s tony Palm Beach. Built in the 1940s, and updated in the 60s, the home is a rare, multifaced faceted gem in a sea of smooth pebbles.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom showstopper luxuriates in a secluded and private position, high above the coastline, with glittering views toward West Head.
The white, multi-level villa features original 40s stucco walls, marble flooring, steel arched windows, and sandstone columns.
The interior, however, has a modern open-plan feel with layers of style and appeal enhanced by the magnificent views.

Living spaces seem to ebb away as each room is surrounded by tiered terraces, and views that open out to native Cabbage Tree palms and bougainvillea.
The Mediterranean feel flows throughout the home, with accommodations set over four floors, including the entrance level, the lower level, and the sandstone tower, which forms part of the upper level for the main bedroom.
Followers of Heidi Middleton or Art Club, will recognise the home’s charming nooks and wide vistas from photoshoots, included on Middleton’s own Instagram page.

While it’s hard to imagine anyone leaving this amazing home, it seems the designer, who hails from Queensland, is moving up to Byron Bay in Northern NSW to be in a warmer climate.
