Artists And Art Lovers Unite At MCA Ball
Creative Couture was the theme of the inaugural MCA Art Ball on held at the Museum of Contemporary Art. And the colourful (and generous) cast of invitees did not disappoint.
In honour of Tracey Moffatt AO, and hosted by television presenter and journalist Nerelda Jacobs OAM, the blowout attracted art-world luminaries and a who’s-who of Sydney society, including Hermès chief executive Karin Upton-Baker, Roslyn and Tony Oxley, Tim Olsen, Bridget Pirie, Monika Tku, MCA Chair Lorraine Tarabay and MCA Director Suzanne Cotter.
The event included a lively auction chaired by Sotheby’s riotous Justin Miller, who quoted the late Barry Humpries, urging the deep-pocketed guests to donate to the worthy cause, “no matter how embarrassingly large.”
