Richard Branson’s Necker Island Is Offering Holiday Stays for the First Time Ever
Typically only available to celebs and moguls willing to spend on a buyout, this is probably your only chance to pop into Branson’s place for Christmas.

Get a room on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island during the festive season? Impossible, unless you are invited by the man himself or shell out over a hundred grand to rent the whole island.
But never say never-Necker: For the first time, Branson is opening up individual rooms on the exclusive Caribbean enclave during this year’s festive season. Though Necker Island’s coveted Individual Stays are offered now and again during other times of the year, hitherto the British Virgin Islands paradise was only available for complete buyouts during the holidays.
“This year, we’re inviting travellers from around the world to experience something very special to close out the year and celebrate 2023,” Necker Island’s general manager James Basson told Robb Report. “For the first time, we are offering guests the opportunity to book an individual room over selected dates during the festive season and have unique access to our beautiful private island.”
Part of Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition resort collection, individual rooms are bookable from Nov. 18 to 25, and from Dec. 11 to 26. Packages includes accommodations, all meals and drinks (including top notch booze), return boat transfers from Virgin Gorda or Beef Island airports, water sports, and children’s activities. And Basson confirms that rooms are indeed still available.
However, one caveat: No departures are permitted on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. But why would you want to?
“Necker operates most of the year for buyout only with only very select weeks of the year that guests can book an individual room,” Basson explained. “These weeks typically don’t fall over the festive season, but for this year, we are excited to offer travellers the most special festive season yet.”
Special Christmas activities include a “Get Grinched Beach Olympics” and apparently Santa Claus will be popping in yo-ho-ho-ing. In the evening, “The Nutcracker” themed ball adds an elegant night of dining and dancing; or get some seasonal boogie going on at a DJ’d after-party
Necker’s itinerary for children includes a full day of activities at the Necker Squids Club, including guided wildlife interactions, pool time, tennis, games, beach activities, and cookie, sushi, and pirate hat making! Should adults also wish to make like Captain Jack Sparrow, they may join in too.
After a day of kitesurfing, paddle boarding, or kayaking, enjoy sunset drinks by the pool before dinner in the Great Room overlooking the blue-blue Caribbean, or en plein air on the beach—food and beverages are tailored to each guest’s preferences.
Part of the British Virgin Islands, a territory of Branson’s native Great Britain, the Virgin Group mogul has called this glamorous island home for many years and welcomed such A-List pals as Kate Winslet, Harry Styles, and Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood to enjoy the private white sand beaches, glorious swimming coves, and exquisite solitude amongst the 74 acres of nature and wildlife.
Of course, there is one possible problem: you might have to share the island with other humans, but there are only 24 rooms available, so it will hardly be shoulder to shoulder sunbathing.
