A Cut Above
BOSS expands its made-to-measure offering in Sydney with a dedicated tailoring salon for men who understand that fit is more than a matter of size.
There’s a reason men still wear suits when it matters. Not because they must. Because they understand what a well-cut jacket communicates before they’ve said a word.
That thinking underpins the expanded BOSS Made to Measure program at the brand’s King Street boutique in Sydney, where a dedicated new salon has been carved out for personalised tailoring. More than simply adding another service, the move acknowledges that today’s clients are looking for clothing that reflects who they are—not just what size they wear. Whether it’s for a wedding, a promotion, a career-defining meeting or simply the satisfaction of owning something made specifically for them, the appeal lies in creating a suit that’s unmistakably their own.

“It’s always about the client’s vision first,” says Made to Measure specialist Max Munro. “Whether it’s for a wedding, work or simply because they want something that’s completely theirs, the process starts with understanding how they want to look and feel.”
From there, the experience becomes less about shopping than collaboration. Clients choose from hundreds of fabrics, multiple silhouettes and an array of finishing details, but Munro is careful not to overwhelm them. Instead, each consultation begins with a conversation about how the suit will actually be worn before moving on to cloth, cut and the details that make it uniquely theirs.

Unlike traditional bespoke tailoring, which can involve multiple fittings over several months, the BOSS Made to Measure program—with a campaign fronted by Australian actor Josh Heuston, whose profile continues to rise thanks to Prime Video’s cult hit Off Campus—is designed to be considerably more streamlined. Garments are crafted in Europe and typically arrive within six to eight weeks. Clients return for a final fitting, where any minor adjustments are made to ensure the finished suit sits exactly as intended. It’s a process that delivers much of the satisfaction of commissioning a custom garment without demanding quite the same investment of time.
In an era obsessed with personal branding, that may be tailoring’s greatest luxury. Not exclusivity for its own sake, but the ability to walk into a room wearing something made expressly for you—and knowing it was designed with only one person in mind.
