The Anticipated Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale Arrives in Australia

During the 2024 Australian Grand Prix, Ferrari took a moment amid the F1 chaos to host some of its most esteemed Tifosi to an evening soiree, and included surprise guest appearances from Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Charles Leclerc and team principal, Frédéric Vasseur. But the biggest moment of the night came from the unveiling of one very special super car now available for order in Australia: the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale.
As you probably have gathered by its appearance, this is no ordinary Ferrari. Instead, the SF90 XX Stradale straddles the line between super car and rocket ship. While its speed is monstrously fast—thanks to its signature PHEV layout featuring a V8 internal combustion engine accompanied by three electric motors, you’ll get from 0-100km/h sprint in just 2.3 seconds—just listening to the SF90 XX Stradale’s soundtrack offers car enthusiasts an insight into this car’s racing heritage.
And while the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, in comparison, is currently Australia’s fastest road car on the market—but only marginally quicker—the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale sets a whole new performance benchmark for the luxury Italian marque.
“The SF90 XX Stradale is a unique concept, arriving as the first street legal XX. It combines an incredible aerodynamic package and an unparalleled racing spirit while retaining road registration, meaning owners can make use of the car on the street and the track alike,” says Ferrari Australasia CEO, Jan Hendrik Voss.
“In Ferrari, when we study a new concept, we decide with all departments what type of ‘soul’ we want to give to the car. In this case, the solution was a car benefitting from our legacy of Special Versions, such as the 488 Pista or the 812 Competizione, as well as elements of the XX Programme.”
In terms of concept, Ferrari make it clear from the get-go that this is very much an XX car—engineering is pushed to new levels, its performance characteristics are extreme and aggressive, and the SF90 XX Stradale dares to go where no Ferrari performance vehicle has gone before. For example, the SF90 XX Stradale is not only quicker than its predecessor, but it delivers the most efficient aerodynamic performance of any road-legal car in Ferrari’s history.
Styling-wise, one of the most distinctive characteristics of this new XX design is its rear wing. As the brand explains, its tail volume is now sleeker, giving it the long-tail silhouette typical of racing cars of similar ilk.
“The SF90 XX Stradale represents the ground-breaking side of Ferrari, and bringing our brand into new territory. We have two decades of history in the XX Programme and even more with our Special Series cars but this is the first time the two have met,” explains Voss.
“Not to mention this is the most high-performance Ferrari road car to date – a fact proven by its record-setting lap time at our Fiorano test track. No street-legal Ferrari has ever been quicker.”
Voss adds that the cars within the XX programme are all subject to considerable re-engineering to give them the exact characteristics of a racing car: a more powerful and high performance powertrain, greater driving dynamics, and above all, highly developed aerodynamics all tested under extreme racing car conditions. What results is a “Special Series” that sets the benchmark for driving dynamics, responsiveness and handling, especially at the limit.
And better yet, those who own, or aspire to own, a track-ready Ferrari, like the SF90 XX Stradale, now have a new option for insurance in Australia to support their high-value goods. Off the back of the SF90 XX Stradale Australian unveiling, Ferrari introduced its own insurance product, ‘Ferrari Insurance’, aimed at giving owners the ability to curate their level of coverage depending on how they use their car.
“Ferrari Australasia is committed to supporting the dedicated community of Ferrari drivers in this region,” Ferrari Australia said in its press release.
“With the introduction of Ferrari Insurance, our clients have nothing to stop them bringing their Ferrari vehicles out to enjoy the open road with complete peace of mind.”

The Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale is limited to just 799 units and will be available from early 2025, with a price tag of $1,568,200 before on-road costs.
