If you love cognac then you will be excited to hear that the restoration of Maison Courvoisier is now complete. With its elegant design, surrounding vineyards, and stunning regional landscape, Maison Courvoisier began welcoming esteemed guests to its new home in October 2024.
While access to the Maison itself remains limited, the doors will swing open for visitors booked in for exclusive tours and tastings. Exclusive overnight experiences can also be arranged.

Located in heart of Jarnac, just 20 minutes from the centre of Cognac the Maison sits directly facing the Charente River. The original edifice, dates from 1857, and was originally inspired by the iconic ‘Pavillon de Flore’ at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The building started out as an homage to this regal part of the Louvre because it was always dear to the heart of founder, Félix Courvoisier. When Monsieur Courvoisier introduced the cognac brand to France in 1828, he envisioned a warm and welcoming space for his friends and family in a place that could share his unique vision of “Joie de Vivre.” Today it is that and so much more.
Cognac experienced unprecedented sales during the pandemic and Courvoisier picked up many new fans. Today they produce a collection of French fortified that appeal to a a wide range of of cognac preferences and lifestyles, including VS, VSOP, XO, XO Royal, and our favourite from the House, L’Essence de Courvoisier.

By collaborating with artists and artisans, the two-year project now pays tribute to nearly two centuries of history and craftsmanship at the site in Jarnac, France while keeping the feel residential.

Revitalised home by Gilles & Boissier —an illustrious French design studio by the husband and wife duo Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier —Maison Courvoisier seeks to become a beacon for global inspiration, innovation and collaborative education.
“We undertook this project with great pride and a determination,” explains Patrick Gilles co-founder of Gilles & Boissier. “We wanted to harmoniously blend together the chateau’s rich French heritage with the excellence of the brand. So we worked to elevate and honour what was already there at the Maison, while introducing a new relevancy and energy that reflects the values of Courvoisier and its commitment not only to build on the legacy of the past but also to look to the future for inspiration and clarity of purpose.
“Exceptional levels of detail have been considered in every element of the design including a bench carved from a magnificent piece of wood from the cellar, testifying to Courvoisier’s deep attachment to their roots,” Patrick Gilles said.

The five-story building is beautifully reimagined. The project draws on French heritage and artistic culture but also takes inspiration from the spirit of drinking fine French cognac in a traditional home style setting.
