Aston Martin’s New DBX GT Is the Most Refined Version of the SUV Yet
The new variant offers the same performance as the athletic DBX S.
Aston Martin decided it was time to finally teach its first SUV some manners.
The British sports car maker just unveiled its latest DBX variant, the GT. The new model, which will launch as part of the marque’s 2027 lineup, offers the same thrilling performance of its predecessors but in a more sophisticated package.
The DBX GT may be the most refined version of the vehicle yet, but that doesn’t mean that Aston Martin has forgotten what made the model so popularin the first place. That’s why the SUV is powered by the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V-8 found in the DBX S. Here, as in the performance-oriented variant, the mill makes 535 kW and 900 Nm of torque. That’s enough grunt to push the high-riding four-door from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, an incredible number for an SUV. Its top speed, meanwhile, is a very respectable 311 km/h.

That doesn’t mean the variant’s powertrain has been left untouched. It’s been specifically tuned to be more “effortless.” This was achieved by improving throttle response and smoothing out the calibration of the nine-speed “wet clutch” automatic gearbox. Other mechanical features include a revised damper calibration for the suspension, which allows the driver to better maintain control, even over poor surfaces, and the same carbon-ceramic brake system found on the DBX S.
The latest DBX may not look dramatically different from its predecessors, but it has received a rather tasteful makeover. The SUV has always sported a sleek shape, but the GT is smoother than the S. It also features a barred grille up front and more noticeable chrome trim elements. It also rides on a new set of 22-inch forged wheels with a Satin titanium diamonded finish. A more athletic 23-inch rim set is also available as an option.

The DBX has always featured a comfortable interior, but the GT’s cabin is easily its cushiest. The front and rear seats have been redesigned to offer more cushioning and better bolstering. The rear row has also been elevated to offer more comfort to passengers without sacrificing flexibility. The space can also be done up in several new model-specific premium upholstery options, features more sound deadening material than before, and comes standard with a panoramic glass roof.
Have the DBX GT’s many upgrades caught your attention? The model will launch as part of the brand’s upcoming 2027 model year class, and deliveries are expected to begin before the year is out. Pricing for the model begins at around AU$429,000.
