Barbara Palvin knows all about “elegance”. Whether captivating international runways as a professional model (she made her debut walking for Prada during Milan Fashion Week in 2010) or gracing countless editorial spreads with her striking looks, Palvin has achieved milestones that elude many twice her age.
It’s fitting then that the 30-year-old Hungarian model has been officially announced as the newest Longines Ambassador of Elegance.
“Joining the prestigious family of Longines ambassadors is a real honour for me, as the value of innate elegance the brand stands for truly resonates with me,” Palvin tells Robb Report. “I cannot wait to develop this exciting partnership with the Longines team.”
You might have guessed something was brewing between Palvin and Longines at last year’s launch of the new Mini DolceVita in New York City. Palvin, who has 20.4 million followers, took to Instagram to announce her excitement for the new release, setting the tone for the inevitable partnership.
And what a perfect candidate she is to follow in the footsteps of luminaries like Audrey Hepburn, Kate Winslet and Jennifer Lawrence as an official Longines representative.
As casual as she is refined, with an innate sense of elegance and natural charisma, Palvin will happily take the company into its next era. She hopes to usher in a new demographic and reinvigorate iconic models like the Mini DolceVita.
As she tells Robb Report, who spoke to her exclusively, her best is yet to come…

Robb Report: Congratulations on your appointment as Longines’ newest Ambassador of Elegance, Barbara. Tell us, what are your earliest memories of watches?
Barbara Palvin: When I received my first paycheck, I saved enough money to buy a watch. My father loves watches, so I wanted to buy something like what he wore growing up. It was a bigger and bulkier watch, which I still have.
RR: Did you know much about the world of watches before joining Longines?
BP: Because of my father, I guess I knew quite a bit about watches—he has amassed quite a collection. My tastes for watches have changed since I was 13, however. Now I tend to go for something more delicate and thinner; something that almost looks like a bracelet.
RR: Longines’ ethos has long been ‘Elegance is an Attitude’. What’s your take on elegance?
BP: I think it’s how someone carries themselves, how they handle confrontations, how someone dresses.
RR: I’m guessing your go-to watch is the Mini DolceVita. How do you like to wear/style it?
BP: Luckily, there are so many versions of it. I either match the colour to my outfit or let the watch be the centrepiece of my look. When wearing an all-black outfit, for example, I’ll pair it with the green strap Mini DolceVita, matching my makeup to it.
RR: I find that pieces, such as the Mini DolceVita, are equally suitable for guys, especially with the resurgence of smaller watches in recent times. Has your husband, Dylan Sprouse, expressed interest in wearing your Mini DolceVita?
BP: Of course! He loves my watches, but my wrist is tiny compared to his, so even if he wanted to try to steal them, they would only fit his fingers.
RR: When you’re not travelling the world for work, how do you make the most of your time?
BP: When I’m not working, I am at home in Los Angeles with my husband and our animals, where I love to rest, cook, relax, and go to the farmers market. That’s also when I catch up on my favourite anime series. Otherwise, I fly back to Hungary to visit my family.
RR: Do you have any specific hobbies you are willing to share with us?
BP: I love fishing, being out in nature, and sitting by the lake with my book and fishing rod.
RR: What’s next for you and how is your year shaping up?
BP: I can’t tell you much so I guess you will have to follow me to see…
