House of Italy: A Lesson on Living Beautifully
House of Italy brought a distinctly Mediterranean spirit to Sydney with a fusion of design, wellness and sprezzatura that redefined what it means to live beautifully.
Last Friday’s sunset panel spoke in a thick Italian accent — not literally, but in the way only Italy can permeate an evening with style, appetite, and that unmistakable sprezzatura. Set against Sydney Harbour in full cinematic mode — Harbour Bridge on one side, Opera House gleaming on the other — the conversation unfolded with the kind of easy elegance that Italians have long since patented.

Onstage, Giulio Gasperini of Technogym, Jo Howard of Sanlorenzo, and David Hartikainen of Space (Poliform) sketched out a distinctly Italian vision of contemporary design: wellness as the new frontier of luxury. Whether at home, at sea, or in motion, each argued for a future where beauty quietly improves the way we live.
Meanwhile, friends from Ferrari and Panerai held court nearby, delighting guests with a selection of their latest models — all gleaming curves and precision engineering, reminders that performance and poetry often share the same passport.

Guests nibbled on Italian-inflected fare, sipped crisp northern wines, and even succumbed to the charms of a roving, light-lit cannoli tray. As the sun slipped behind the harbour, it felt less like an event and more like a small, exquisite lesson in the Italian art of living well.
