SAINT Black: Melbourne’s Most Opulent Private Wellness Club
Saint Haven’s new South Melbourne outpost is a three-level private playground where cutting-edge biohacking meets rooftop resort glamour.
Saint Haven has always blurred the line between wellness retreat and social stage, but with the opening of SAINT Black in South Melbourne, founder Tim Gurner has raised the curtain on something altogether more theatrical. Inspired by the rooftop wellness culture of New York, the 2,000 m², tri-level Private Social Club is a heady mix of cryotherapy chambers, reformer Pilates studios, a co-working lounge with a floating DJ booth, and the sort of circadian-lit travertine lobby that makes you forget there’s a world outside.

“This is by far our largest Private Club to date,” says Gurner, “with over three levels creating an endless variety of ways for our members to spend their days.” Translation: you could arrive for a breathwork class, detour into red-light therapy, then linger over an adaptogen-laced espresso before drifting up to SANA, the rooftop retreat reserved for “Black” and “Ultimate” members. Up there, a 40-person sauna, wood-barrelled ice baths and a magnesium-infused pool await—less gym, more private Aman resort in the sky.

Like its Toorak sibling, SAINT Black is wellness with an edge. “Our members are seeking ways to engage with their friends that don’t involve late, boozy nights, while accessing that same rush of endorphins that come with the sensory experience of a nightclub,” says Gurner. Which is why Thursday through Sunday, the wholefoods menu shares space with cocktails, and the music gets a shade louder at dusk.
In a city already flush with luxury wellness offerings, SAINT Black feels like the first one with genuine swagger—a place to recover harder, connect deeper and, naturally, be seen.
