Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveils A Contemporary Classic
Vintage styling meets modern tastes in the Swiss manufacture’s elegant new Master Control Chronograph Calendar.
Recalling the chronographs of the mid-20th century, Jaeger-LeCoultre has updated is Master Control collection with a new contemporary classic. Taking form in a rose gold case with a black dial, the Master Control Chronograph Calendar draws inspiration from the Swiss manufacture’s round timepieces of the 1950s and 1960s, reinterpreting their vintage appeal to cater to modern tastes.
Introduced over three decades ago, the Master Control line takes its name from the 1000-Hour Control Certification that is now standard testing protocol for all of the maison’s timepieces. Defined by clean lines and overall design purity, the newcomer’s restrained styling is anchored by its delicately sloped rose gold case.

Sitting in the sweet spot of watch sizes, the 40mm case features curved lugs that sit comfortably on the wrist, while rectangular chronograph pushers add a contemporary touch to the otherwise vintage stylings of the timepiece.
The dial is flanked by a pulsometric scale on the flange which is marked in red, with subtle red details on the subdials and in the day and month windows creating contrast with the black dial.
The tri-compax dial layout plays host to a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock which is balanced by the running seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, while the day and month windows on the upper section of the dial are offset by the moon phase and date indicator at 6 o’clock. A textured azurage finish appears on each subdial, creating a subtle interplay of light atop the sun-brushed dial. Elegant Dauphine hands and applied trapezoidal indexes are crafted from rose gold, as are all details on the subdials.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Chronograph Calendar is powered by the calibre 759—an automatic movement with a 65-hour power reserve—and is presented on a black alligator strap.
