Over the weekend, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli won the Prada Cup, and subsequently, entry to the 36th America’s Cup. On March 6, they’ll face-off against Emirates Team New Zealand in the Hauraki Gulf off Auckland New Zealand to decide who takes home the Auld Mug.
To commemorate the historic race, official timekeeper Omega has unveiled its latest timepiece, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Chronograph.
Built from stainless steel, the 44mm chronograph arrives with a blue ceramic dial and bezel ring, featuring a white enamel diving scale. Omega has also added coordinating soft-touch rubber pushers, ergonomically designed to work in the wet – or when foiling through the water at 50 knots – seen here in red and blue.

Elsewhere, the dial sees a laser engraved wave pattern including a regatta countdown indicator ring in red anodized aluminium, which features an hour disc underneath the subdial and a red anodized aluminium minute and rhodium-plated small seconds hand inspired by a boat’s hull. The central seconds chronograph hand, also in red anodized aluminium, bears the America’s Cup as the counterweight.
Keeping the timepiece accurate is Omega’s co-axial master chronometer calibre 9900 which operates 12-hour and 60-minute recorders and boasts a power reserve of 60 hours alongside Omega’s chrono lock system which ensures the chronograph functions when needed. The timepiece is water-resistant to 300 metres.

Engraving filled with blue lacquer decorates the caseback, spelling out “36th America’s Cup” and “Auckland 2021” while the timepiece lands with both a metal bracelet and additional rubber strap, both enjoying Omega’s new quick-change system. Here, one press of a button releases the pins from the watch-head, enabling the wearer to switch bracelets easily.

Arriving in a special presentation box in the colours of the America’s Cup further elevates the watch’s collectable appeal. To sail away with your very own will cost $15,675.
