When looking for a warm-weather watch, where better to start than the manufacture’s summer release – the Hublot Big Bang Unico Summer, this year arriving in a turquoise tone.
The lagoon-inspired timepiece is available in only 200 examples and boasts a 42mm case and bezel—both of which were crafted entirely from satin-finished and polished anodised aluminium. The distinct tonal theme is also made visible on the dial and hand, as well as on the figure’s markers and chronographs.
Even more notable, Hublot’s HUB1280 in-house flyback column-wheel chronograph movement is able to be seen on the model’s titanium case back—just as clearly as its front-facing skeletonised dial.
Performance-wise, the bold piece offers watch collectors a 72-hour power reserve and 100 meters of water resistance.
For comfort, the figure sports a velcro strap in a turquoise knit with the same colour stitching, while its sport buckle in polished turquoise anodized aluminium provides a secure clasp. $29,200; hublot.com
Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski White Ceramic
A gleaming example of what to wear as things heat up is the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Orlinski White Ceramic.
The 45mm case is made of microblasted white ceramic and is paired with a white smooth rubber strap for an effortlessly clean design.
Hublot has opted for its HUB1155 Self-winding skeleton chronograph movement that offers 42 hours of power reserve. The skeletonised design lets you peer into the inner workings of the movement with the chronograph and date indications all visible.
The limited-edition piece has a run of 200 and will set you back $26,300. hublot.com
Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic
A punchy addition, the Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic certainly makes a statement.
The manufacture’s first yellow ceramic watch arrives in 42mm and features a polished yellow ceramic bezel and case paired with a matte black skeleton dial that displays the workings of Hublot’s movement.
Inside, the watch is powered by the HUB1280 in-house flyback column-wheel chronograph movement that offers a 72-hour power reserve and 100 meters of water resistance.
Coordinating with the rest of the watch is the yellow and black structured lined rubber strap that attaches to the wrist by a titanium deployant buckle clasp.
The watch is limited to 250 examples and is priced at $36,600; hublot.com
Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire
Hublot’s Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire is a welcome ray of sunshine. The bright orange sapphire case – the first of its kind, is a hefty 45mm wide by 15.3mm thick, so you can’t miss it.
The numerals and hands are luminescent orange to match the sapphire, and the strap is orange rubber with a titanium deployant clasp.
The calibre is the MHUB6035, Hublot’s first automatic tourbillon and has 243 components, including a 22-carat grey-gold rotor. It was three years in the making, and has a 72-hour (three-day) power reserve.
The Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire will be made in a series of only 10 pieces, and is priced at $235,000; hublot.com
