Local Barefoot Luxury Onboard Le Ponant

PONANT brings the ultimate adventure to Australia’s Kimberley coast.

By Sponsored Content 30/06/2022

PONANT’s flagship luxury three-masted sailing yacht, Le Ponant, will be leaving Mediterranean waters for the first time in 2023 to deliver an Australian first — the pinnacle Kimberley experience.

PONANT will be taking expeditions to another level together with Australia’s prestigious pearl farmers and jewellers, Paspaley Group.  Led by PONANT’s world-renowned expedition and destination experts, guests will be able to experience a breathtaking sailing environment as well as shore landings on PONANT’s state-of-the-art Zodiac boats. The heady experience will be paired with private, scenic transfer flights aboard Paspaley’s vintage Grumman Mallard flying boats and private access to Paspaley’s pearl operations in Kuri Bay.

The newly refurbished Le Ponant has been transformed to offer guests a truly unique travel experience with sleek, sophisticated design, by Jean-Philippe Nuel. The result sees an intimate setting with only 16 staterooms for a maximum of 32 guests found within the expansive 88-metre vessel. Of those rooms, the most opulent is the Owner’s Suite with balcony at 47sqm, alongside Grand Privilege Alizé Suite with balcony at 49sqm.

Further, the yacht’s common areas — replete in tones of off-white, taupe and caviar grey – feature an exterior bar and sun lounge area and Le Diamant panoramic restaurant boasting wines from French artisan producers and Veuve Clicquot champagne.

Other accoutrements onboard include the lounge and Bar Emeraude, also found in the Alizés Deck and the wellness space which offers one cabin offering massages and Biologique Recherche treatments partnered with a gym with dedicated fitness instructor and yoga sessions on the sun deck.

Commencing operations in April 2023, PONANT will once again push the boundaries of expedition travel with new bespoke itineraries, showcasing the immense beauty of the Kimberley.
