Luxury holidaying is continuing to move into boutique realms, away from chain hotels and into private luxury properties and experiences. Deepdale Farm in Western Australia’s Toodyay is just that, with the historic property in the rolling hills of Western Australia’s Avon Valley now available as a retreat for the first time in its 169-years.
The 1500-hectare working farm sleeps up to 12 people in the eight bedrooms on offer, after the 1850’s homestead recently underwent a beautiful renovation. Perched on the hills that bank the Avon River, the estate sprawls down to the water which is only a short stroll from the homestead, down the walking trail.
Private Properties CEO David Moyes says, “Deepdale Farm sets a new standard for holiday properties in Western Australia,” adding, “Never before in our 25 years of managing holiday homes have we had the privilege of listing such a truly unique property.”
Positioning itself as the quintessential Australian farm-stay, the home’s understated style is met with high quality furnishings and appliances, while full time managers take care of the farm’s operations and facilities leaving very little to worry about. The wrap around verandah exudes heritage charm that is helped along by clawfoot baths, original jarrah floorboards, fireplaces and ornate ceiling all play their part in building the retreat’s character.
A heated salt water swimming pool, fully appointed gym, tennis court and BBQ area are on hand to keep you busy alongside 2.5-hectares of surrounding gardens with sculptures hidden throughout.
If you want to fratenise with the locals, the town of Toodyay is only a 90-minute drive, or less by helicopter, from Perth CBD and five-minutes from Deepdale Farm. The township has all the necessities such as an authentic country pub, artisan bakery and monthly farmers markets with local produce.
Deepdale Farm is available through Private Properties from S4250 per night for a minimum of two nights, through to $17,250 for seven nights.
