The curator for the world’s most life-enriching journeys and experiences, Captain’s Choice has launched an inspiring portfolio of land explorations for 2020 across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Devoted to uncovering the world’s most fascinating corners, the Australian company, established in 1994, was one of the first to introduce private jet journeys and now lead the global push to explore new lands and forge new experiences.

“We are excited to launch our collection of land explorations for 2020. These Captain’s Choice journeys seek out the rare, the unique and the extraordinary, and we don’t just observe, we become immersed in the daily life and customs tied to the places we visit,” explains creative director of Captain’s Choice, Lou Tandy.

Asian exploration

From the enchanting southern coast of India aboard a luxury train or cruising remote waters of the Mekong River, Captain’s Choice Asian Explorations highlight the richness of Asia’s divergent cultures.

New in 2020 is the Classic Silk Road by Luxury Train. Lifting the veil on the world’s oldest trade route the Shangri-La Express and Golden Eagle Trains grant breathtaking perspectives of the Central Asian landscape. Reserved for only 24 guests, the extraordinary rail journey will visit Beijing, Dunhaung, Tashkent, Samarkand, Khiva and Moscow, with pricing starting from $39,900.

Africa and the Middle East

Another new experience available in 2020 is The Gateway between Morocco & Andalusia, a journey through Morocco exploring its breathtaking deserts and medinas. Less than 60 kilometres across the Strait of Gibraltar, guests will explore the golden landscapes of Andalusia by rail and experience what remains of Moorish Spain. Available from September 2020 and limited to 24 guests, the journey treks from Casablanca though Marrakesh, Fez and more all the way to Granada, pricing starts from $28,500.

Towards the south of Africa, The Great Namibian Road Trip, will take guests on the open road behind the wheel of their own 4×4 to discover Namibia’s best kept secrets with the option of being unaccompanied or hosted by a private driver. The exclusive convoy will take guests from Winhoek to the Onguma Game Reserve and Etosha National park with pricing from $25,900.

European Explorations

Celebrating the very best of Europe, the handcrafted selection of adventures allows guests to relax by the Adriatic, visit Spanish wine country, explore the Alps or gaze at the Northern Lights. A 2020 highlight is the Secrets of Prussia Bohemia & The Balkans. Departing in June guests travel by train through the mysterious Balkan states including Berlin, Potsdam, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Golden Eagle, Belgrade, Mostar, Ljubljana and Venice with prices from $32,700.
