A dogged approach: The Sistem51 Swatch x Hackett
A project that marries haute Swiss horology with timeless British style

It’s only been a matter of weeks since British fashion identity Jeremy Hackett teamed up with Aston Martin to create a special edition the Rapide S; now, the British menswear pioneer has pulled off another timely collaboration, this time with Swiss watchmaker Swatch.
The Sistem51 Swatch x Hackett (around $270) – a dual design project, limited to only 1983 watches, individually numbered, as a nod to the brands’ shared birth-year – sees Jeremy Hackett’s dog in a starring role: a Sussex Spaniel and unofficial brand ambassador, Muffin’s silhouetted profile appears on the sun-brushed green dial which features a top hat-shaped date window and superluminova hands and is circumferenced by an engraved green bezel.
Each watch comes in special limited edition packaging in a royal red adorning the 1983 Swatch x Hackett logo. A tough leather strap with brown and green leather loops which form the letter ‘H’, along with the brushed stainless steel buckle, add a sporty touch. “Due to the watch launching in November and because it is the Chinese Year of the Dog, I decided, what could be better than an image on the dial of Muffin, my Sussex Spaniel who is a brand ambassador for Hackett and an ‘Influencer’. What I admire about Swatch is that it is a very democratic brand that appeals to everybody and one whose popularity endures. Dare I say, it’s timeless?”
