Titleist’s Covert New Putter

The limited-edition Scotty Cameron Phantom is a stealthy addition to the bag.

Adding style to the putting stroke is the newly unveiled Scotty Cameron Phantom X 9.5 Triple Black Mallet Putter. Taking a similar shape to the Phantom X 5.5 and Phantom X 11 – released back in March of this year – the new putter sees a few considered adjustments for better play.

Much like the original Phantom X, the new model arrives with an improved moment of inertia, forgiving those mis-hits. Where it differs from models of old is in the alignment area, here the putter is fitted with an aluminium flange-sole and aligned by the triple dotted Cameron signature to mark the centre-line.

The new model adds the stainless steel body to the 6061 aluminium flange-sole to bring stability and optimal weight distribution while the hosel now sees a short slant neck design for arc-enhancement.

Elsewhere a full shaft of offset provides the balance of a mallet and unbelievable feel and arrives with two customisable stainless steel heel-toe weights.

Of course, arriving in triple black, the stylish stick comes in 33″, 34″, and 35″ lengths and is equipped with a black Pistolero Plus grip with muscle car pinstripes etched into the putter and matching headcover.

The new putter will be available on the Titleist website and good gold retailers on October 8, but you best get in quick as only 4000 are being made. Approx. $1032; titleist.com
