The family-owned and operated winemakers have over 140 years of vino flowing through the veins of the company. The McW range is a celebration of the regional diversity and understated elegance of cool climate, high altitude wines. The McW 660 Reserve Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon is harvested from vineyards at an average altitude of 600 metres from sea level in the New South Wales wine region of Hilltops.
“More and more people are gravitating towards cool climate wines like the McWilliam’s McW range because they are better suited to enjoy with a wide range of foods” says Andrew Higgins, McWilliam’s Chief Winemaker.
“The geographical location of vineyards and the landscape where the grapes are grown significantly shape the taste of the wine. High altitude areas provide the grapes with intense sunshine during the day and cooler climates at night which means prolonged ripening periods”.
Making wine is in itself an artform that requires passion and dedication to build a solid foundation for innovative creativity such as the cold climate McW Reserve range.
McWilliam’s are leaders in their craft – their long-standing history as one of Australia First Families of Wine – began in 1877 after Samuel McWilliam planted the first vines on the banks of the Murray in New South Wales, and since has had six consecutive generations of winemakers.
The AFFW represent the founding families of wine across 16 regions, with a collective 1200 years of winemaking experience making McWilliam’s part of a select, respected group of winemakers.
Beyond the respectable reputation that McWilliam’s have established for themselves, this McW Reserve range is an expression that has one considering that perhaps this is what Winter was made for.

Aroma: Vibrant blackberry, bay leaf and dark chocolate fruits, coupled with
sophisticated oak notes.
Palate: Classically structured with dark berries and dark chocolate, finishing with fine grained dry tannins.
