The country’s largest Mercedes-Benz retail group, LSH Auto Australia has strengthened its partnership with Street Side Medics following the donation of a second Mercedes-Benz Sprint van for conversion into a mobile clinic.
Street Side Medics is a GP-led non-for-profit medical service for the homeless in NSW, founded by Dr Daniel Nour, the young Australian of the year.
The announcement of the new donation was made at the inaugural Street Side Medics Gala on Friday August 19.
John Good, managing director of LSH Auto Australia and Dr Daniel Nour were joined at the Gala by NSW Governor, The Hon Margaret Beazley AO and NSW premier Dominic Perrottet.
“Once we saw what Daniel and Street Side Medics were achieving the initial decision to support them by providing the second van was easy. Providing the third van will allow them to further expand their medical services for the homeless and dispossessed,” said Mr Good.
“The way we look after our less fortunate is a true test of the compassion of a society and that’s why we are proud to be helping the work of Street Side Medics. It’s also central to our aim of being a valuable member of each community in which we operate,” he added.
For Dr Nour, the donation allows for the expansion of his work.
“LSH Auto Australia has been a central part of that journey of growth. Their contribution of two of our three vans has allowed us to care for those in need in more locations around Sydney and, hopefully, in the near future in other Australian cities,” explained Dr Nour.
The inaugural Street Side Medics Gala was attended by over 300 invited guest, partners and contributors and raised significant funds in support of the ongoing provision and expansion of medical care for those suffering from homelessness and entranced disadvantage.
