Enjoy a show at the Sydney Opera House
If you want your festivities with a side of culture, this is the place for you. The Sydney Opera House has two shows on offer on NYE: there is a full performance of The Merry Widow, or the entertaining Opera Gala, featuring favourites by Verdi, Puccini, Rossini and more. The interval is timed with the 9pm fireworks and the House is open well past midnight, so you can enjoy the spectacular view, minus the crowds.
Cruise into the greatest show on earth
Everyone knows the best view of the Sydney Harbour fireworks is from the water but if a crowded party boat isn’t your style, there are still super yachts available for charter that can cater for either formal dining or a slap-up cocktail function for you and up to 80 of your best friends. After the party is over and the guests have disembarked, you could then retire to the luxurious living quarters to sleep the party off and wake up to a beautiful harbour view.

Get away from it all at Wolgan Valley
Eaten and drunk too much over Christmas and need a chance to unwind? OneandOnly Wolgan Valley has just the ticket. It is putting on a special NYE dinner complete with lawn games and face painting for the kids. There will be live music and champagne to help bring in the new year in splendid, secluded style. New Year’s Day sounds equally amazing with a sumptuous detox breakfast spread, a relaxing BBQ lunch with live entertainment, followed by a 4WD Wildlife and Sundowners tour of the reserve.
Your Eureka moment
You won’t forget this New Year’s Eve in a hurry. The iconic Eureka tower stands 297 metres above the streets of Melbourne and is hosting a fabulous ‘Elevation’ party featuring live entertainment, DJs and dancing. Functions over two levels include grazing platters, alcohol and unrivalled views over the city and its fireworks.
Put your best face forward in Adelaide
There’s something about a masquerade ball on New Year’s Eve that sounds oh-so-glamourous. The Stamford Grand at Glenelg will ring in 2018 in style with its Grand Masquerade Ball. Don your best black-tie outfits and dance the night away with live entertainment. Your senses will be indulged with a four-course dinner and five-hour beverage package.
