Businessman and entrepreneur Richard Branson had to earn hundreds of millions of dollars before he could realise the dream of owning his own tropical paradise – Necker Island, located in the Caribbean.
But even if you’re not revolving in Branson-style circles, the dream of booking out a luxury resort – a Hilton, no less – on a tropical island for the exclusive use of you and your friends remains very much alive.
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji has introduced a ‘Full Island Experience’ package, which includes exclusive use of Sonaisali Island and its 120-room property. The deal also includes all meals and transfers, plus access to the resort’s facilities.
The key part of the package is the price – to book out the entire resort for up to 240 people in twin-share rooms costs 75,000 Fijian dollars per night (minimum two-night stay), or roughly $A48,000. In other words, bring 239 mates with you and pay just $200 per person, per night. Even with just 120 guests in tow, $400 per night remains within the reach of many Australian holidaymakers.
Hilton Resorts describes it as “the ultimate island fantasy” on “a lush, private tropical island surrounded by the pristine waters of the South Pacific Ocean” with “access to all 120 guest rooms and bures that boast awe-inspiring views of the stunning Mamanuca Islands”.
It notes that guests can “spend their days soaking up the tranquility of tropical paradise with access to one of the largest lagoon pools in Fiji, enjoy a variety of dining options, relax and rejuvenate with a number of indulgent spa experiences, and keep active with plenty of leisure activities including horse riding, kayaking and paintball”. The latter activities all attract an additional charge.
Included are a daily buffet breakfast, two-course lunch and three-course dinner, plus a beachside dinner on one of the nights and one-hour sunset drinks. Transfers and a traditional welcome warrior dance are also included.
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji is one of a global portfolio of 500 upscale hotels with more than 117,000 rooms across six continents. “DoubleTree by Hilton offer unique, contemporary accommodations and full-service facilities, including restaurants and lounges, room service, health clubs, business centers and meeting and banquet space,” the company says.
