Sunreef’s New 40-Metre Explorer

Catamarans bring to mind the kind of lazy cruising more accustomed to the Whitsundays or Dalmatian Coast as opposed to exploring the vastness of the ocean.

However, a new 40-metre catamaran concept from Sunreef Yachts hopes to change those preconceptions with the Sunreef 40M Explorer said to offer ‘transoceanic range” and will be focused on delivering “solid performance in rough seas,” according to the shipyard.

The extended aft deck will house a launching crane and room for a seven-metre tender, two Jet Skis and flotilla of water toys. It’s here a full-beam swim platform can also be enjoyed with the hydraulic aft platform lowering to water level once the tender is launched.

Elsewhere, a 13.34-metre beam allows for impressive living quarters with a total of 654 square metres split across three decks.

The expansive bow terrace provides guests with ample room for lounging and is complemented by a spa pool, sun pads and a very necessary bar.

True to Sunreef’s ethos, a heady array of customisation is available including a private fold-out balcony off the master suite and a playroom with self-levelling pool table all available.
