Last year, swiss outfit Hublot unveiled a watch using a material never before used in horology called SAXEM – shorthand for sapphire aluminium oxide and rare-earth mineral – in the form of the mean and green Big Bang MP-11 SAXEM.
Now, the revered watchmaker launches its Spirit of Big Bang Green SAXEM, an equally alluring follow up timepiece. Once again the case sees the avant-garde emerald green material which is hard, brilliant and fully transparent – building on the work done by Hublot on with sapphire cases.
This iteration sees the timepiece arrive in a new shape at 42mm, with a matching green rubber strap – clasped by a black ceramic and plated titanium buckle – green indexes, hands, and logo at the 12 o’clock.
The skeletonised dial lets you peer into to the in-house constructed HUB4700 calibre which powers the chronograph and offers a 50-hour power reserve and 50-metre water resistance all while furthering notions of transparency.
Limited to 100 pieces, the Spirit of Big Bang Green SAXEM is priced at approx. $161,670.
