Robb Recommends: The Tailored Resort Wear Inspired By 007
Orlebar Brown translates the unparalleled elegance of the 1983 classic Octopussy into a considered swim and resort collection.
Britain isn’t the typical provenance of resort wear. However, it is home to Savile Row, with the tailoring found on the illustrious street providing the basis of the fit for every pair of Orlebar Brown swimming shorts.
Debuting with the Bulldog shorts in 2007, Orlebar Brown has achieved notoriety for its application of tailoring techniques—the aforementioned style comprises 60 individual elements—to swim and resort wear, with the structured styles able to effortlessly transition from beach to bar.
Now, the premium lifestyle brand has joined forces with another British icon. Since 2018, Orlebar Brown has collaborated with James Bond, with the brand’s signature styles erving as a canvas for artwork from Dr. No, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, and Live And Let Die. Now, attention has been turned to Octopussy, with Orlebar Brown’s latest collaborative capsule collection channelling the undeniable elegance of the film.
The 1983 classic sees Roger Moore’s James Bond travel to Udaipur, India to investigate a jewel smuggling operation spearheaded by the eponymous Octopussy. The Orlebar Brown Octopussy capsule collection features a selection of swim shorts, towelling shirts, linen shirts, and cotton-silk polos emblazoned with the iconic octopus artwork, as well as 007 motifs and jacquard prints. For on-land adventures, there’s also an elegant linen suit that can be paired with the various cotton-silk shirting options on offer.
The collection is now available in Orlebar Brown boutiques and online.
