Five spotlight-grabbing jewellery looks from the Grammy Awards
These bejewelled designs were the true rockstars of the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
Though her artistic achievements shine brighter than any gemstone, Beyoncé’s 400-carat yellow diamond lariat necklace — created exclusively for her by Lorraine Schwartz — did its best to grab the spotlight. The necklace, along with a few diamond rings (also by Schwartz), were valued at close to $US12 million (about $A15.65 million). Picture: Mike Nelson/EPA/REX/Shutterstock
Rihanna’s look for the night mixed classic white diamonds with an edgy, vibrant statement ring. The singer wore a dazzling pair of Chopard earrings made with aquamarine, yellow sapphires and rubies, and stacked her wrists with the Geneva-based jewellery house’s white-diamond cuff and bangles.
For a modern touch, the singer donned a stunning rectangular-cut green peridot ring by David Webb, which was set in hammered 18-karat gold and platinum and surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds. (chopard.com; davidwebb.com) Picture: Jim Smeal/BEI/Shutterstock
Hong Kong-based jewellery line Butani dressed Jennifer Lopez with several diamond designs, including three decadent 18-karat gold rings. One was an elegant, modern creation in which four diamonds branched out like petite flower blossoms ($US26,600 or about $A34,700), another cobbled together an astounding combination of pear and marquise-cut diamonds ($US30,600), and the third boasted 39 oval diamonds ($US54,000).
For a final touch, Lopez donned a bracelet laden with 23 carats of diamonds ($US277,600). (butani.com) Pictures: Jim Smeal/BEI/Shutterstock, Broadimage/REX/Shutterstock
Grammy presenter Paris Jackson wore a pair of Kimberly McDonald’s one-of-a-kind geode drop earrings set in 18-karat white gold and black rhodium surrounded by rose cut diamonds and irregular grey diamonds. (kimberlymcdonald.com) Picture: Broadimage/REX/Shutterstock
Piaget fused high fashion with practicality in its delicate Limelight Couture Précieuse bracelet watch, its bracelet set with 140 brilliant-cut diamonds.
