With the electrification of the Mercedes-Benz brand surging forwards, here, through Pickering Luxury Garage, is the rare opportunity to own a 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
Petrol power in all its glory, the supercar in question features a front-mid-engine 6.2-litre V8 that, at the time was touted as the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in the world producing 420kw, 650Nm of torque straight to the rear wheels. As such, the supercar is capable of catapulting from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Complementing the powerful engine, courtesy of the team at AMG is that ‘SLS’ badge — standing for Super Leicht Sport (super light sport) — resulting in a final curb weight of 1619kg.
The car, designed by Mark Fetherston with the assistance of Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, was seen to be the spiritual successor of the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, as made evident by the eye-catching doors. Yet, despite its sporting credentials and flamboyant doors, the 2-seater was marketed as a grand-tourer, with functional boot space.
Further, The Mercedes SLS AMG was the first to be made entirely by the AMG team, with large portions of the build assembled by hand. The chassis and aluminium body shell was produced by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria and then transferred to Sindelfingen, Germany for assembly, with the engine hand built by AMG in Affalterbach, Germany.
On offer, through Pickering Luxury Garage, this dazzling 2010 collectable arrives in Alubeam Silver with a vibrant Designo Red interior and has very low mileage of 26,346km at the hands of a single owner.
Pickering Luxury Garage is a state-of-the-art bespoke showroom offering the world’s most exquisite and collectable motorcars and is motivated by its want to transform the prestige ownership experience. With Pickering Luxury Garage, prestige ownership starts here.
The vehicle is currently for auction through Collecting Cars, ending on June 20, 2022.
