Italy has endured unlike any other European country of late. But there’s something to be said for Italian fortitude and spirit.
Passing any sense of darkness with perseverance and positivity, Italian-based Custom Line Yachts (part of the Ferretti Group) unveils its latest – the striking Navetta 30.
At 28.43m, and boasting a 7.3-metre beam, the Navetta 30 is perfectly poised to sail Custom Line into a heady future with a spacious, lifestyle-driven approach to design.
Offering the allure of a much larger vessel, the Filippo Salvetti designed Navetta 30 is a wide-body configuration boasting owner’s suite and lounge, in addition to four VIP cabins, bespoke dining area and lounge on the upper deck, bridge access and expansive sun-deck as well as crew area below.
“It might have the capabilities of a ship, but it is full of harmoniously balanced visual appeal,” Salvetti tells Robb Report.
Interiors come from Milanese design outfit Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel – a debut collaboration with Custom Line Yachts – and offer owners two differing aesthetic approaches. The ‘textured mood’ means greater use of materials such as steel and carbon detailing, with quartz-fibre surfaces used to create customised textures and a classic ultramarine blue motif running throughout. The ‘wooden mood’, meanwhile, is a somewhat self-explanatory play that ultimately means an indulgence of teak.
“The collaboration between Citterio Viel and Filippo Salvetti was born out of the need to think about where we want Custom Line and the Navetta range to go in the next 25 years,” says Ferretti Group’s Chief Commercial Officer Stefano de Vivo.
The exterior boasts large glazed windows and seamless fenestrations that link inside-out across the hull and superstructure. With deck heights measuring more than two metres and large spaces ideal for lounging sat both forward and aft, this newcomer oozes a sense of space unlike other vessels in its class.
With the combination of its steep hull and wave-piercer, the Navetta 30 is economical and built for cruising. That said, with power delivered by twin Man 800hp engines as standard, it’s capable of a top speed of 14 knots with a range of 2150 nautical miles on a single tank at 10 knots– easily taking you from Sydney to Cairns and beyond.
“We’ve been very careful to give the boat great comfort and make it as light as possible to make the boat as efficient as possible. We’ve also increased our sound and thermal insulation to require less power to heat or cool the boat – which over time is one of the largest contributors to emissions,” adds Mr de Vivo.
Despite the recent cancellation of the Navetta 30’s official debut at this September’s Cannes Yachting Festival, Custom Line will soon be turning heads in both European and Australian waters.
