Three rooms, three designers, three distinct personas – at least that’s the thinking by III Rooms Sydney, a unique serviced apartment accommodation experience in Sydney’s Potts Point.
Enlisting the help of three of Australia’s most respected furniture design houses, III Rooms Sydney combines European apartment style living with Cult Design, MCM House and Jardan each curating their own luxe apartment.
The concept was conceived by Chrissi James and Tony Benjamin after Benjamin purchased the iconic heritage building in May of last year for a touch under $13 million.
Inspired by the iconic 3 Rooms Paris – self-contained accommodation curated by fashion designer Azzedine Alaia – as well as The Apartment by The Line in New York and Los Angeles. The pair sought to blend the two concepts together, bringing together a rag-tag team of some of Australia’s finest designers and furnishers to complete the concept
Guests can stay from $700 per night, sleeping easy knowing Contemporary Hotels look after the service side of things. Each apartment is filled with natural light – making the most of the original high ceilings – luxurious furniture imparting a unique vibe to each.
In the first residence by Cult design, think international pieces and local furniture coming together for something luxe and liveable. It’s the smallest on offer, with only two beds, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with its own modern edge.
Behind door number two is MCM house’s apartment, which uses the standard MCM palettes and silhouettes. It reflects maturity, in-line with the heritage of the building. However, that’s not to say it’s old and stale, with the apartment boasting three bedrooms filled with art like Sam Davidson’s Burnout photo.
Finally, we arrive at apartment three, Jardan. It’s stress-free, playful and focusses on texture and colour without overcomplicating the space. It’s uncluttered and something of a refuge away from the energetic streets of Potts Point, with some of Sydney’s finest culinary delights and vibrant nightlife just beyond the front door.
With three to choose from, the only thing to do is find your fit.
