Aqua Expeditions Unveils New Fleet Additions: Aqua Blu and Aqua Nera
The vessels will be travelling through the Indonesian Archipelago and the Amazon river.

Aqua Expeditions, boutique luxury cruise providers, today unveiled two new additions to its fleet. The Aqua Blu is the first coastal cruising vessel from the company, while the Aqua Nera builds on the nature-inspired cruising synonymous with the Peruvian-founded brand.
Aqua Blu is the first long-range expedition class yacht to be permanently based in the East Indonesian Archipelago with year-round departures. Created in partnership with renowned yacht designer Co D. Rover, the Aqua Blu has been completely refurbished from its heritage rich life as a former British Naval Explorer HMS Beagle.

Itineraries cover tropical islands where wildlife, culture and age-old traditions reside alongside the world’s best diving and snorkelling sites in the heart of the Coral Triangle. The vessel will primarily serve three destinations on 7-night coastal cruise itineraries: Raja Ampat, a round trip through the summer months; Bali to Komodo National Park from April to September and Ambon; and Spice Island, from October to November.
Guests will travel in comfort with 15 individually-designed sea-facing suites in three cabin categories alongside on-board certified dive guides and a range of best-in-class cruise amenities. These include a sun deck, indoor lounge and bar, outdoor jacuzzi, spa and premium watersports equipment such as diving and snorkelling gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

Exploring multiple destinations in East Indonesia on a single itinerary and discovering exotic locales such as The Forgotten Islands, Aqua Blu will also offer 12-night journeys. There will be a maximum of four departures a year, each sailing a different route with rates for 7 and 12-night Aqua Blu itineraries ranging from around $10,760 to $23,555 per person in double occupancy.
The Aqua Nera is a new-build river cruise boat featuring a high-concept interior by renowned architect Noor Design. The vessel will sail to the Peruvian Amazon where it will begin operations on 1 August 2020. Offering 3, 4, and 7-night river cruise itineraries, the Aqua Nera will be the most state-of-the-art and luxuriously appointed boat to sail the Amazon, with cruises ranging from $5895 to $14,760.

The design utilises dark-hued sustainably-sourced wood as the key interior material, with intricate accents nodding to the cultures of Portugal, Spain and Peru. Boasting 20 spacious, river-facing suites, Aqua Nera enables guests to make the most of the restaurant, lounge, spa, plunge pool and gym all on board. On Aqua Nera, Aqua Expeditions’ partnership with award-winning Peruvian culinarian Pedro Miguel Schiaffino continues as he uses unique Amazonian ingredients in his Modern Peruvian cuisine, championing ingredients from the vessel’s surrounds.
